Mastectomy

In some cases, removal of the breast is necessary. This procedure is usually performed in a hospital setting where the patient will be admitted to hospital for observation following the surgery.  Some patients choose to have breast reconstruction.  A referral will be given to a plastic surgeon to discuss options in reconstructive surgery.  The mastectomy procedure will be scheduled with immediate reconstruction once a decision has been made
